Can you believe it is Christmas already?

2.5 hour run with Andy over he Clywydians

Braved the minus 3 degrees and freezing fog to go for a run with Andy.

Although bitterly cold, the views were amazing as we climbed out of the fog on to the mountain sides. Andy decided to take me up the world famous gully. Never heard of it myself but it was a cracker of a climb.

Heel feels great. Legs were a little tired and my stamina was tested. Not bad seeing I had taken 4 weeks off to let my heel recover and my fibrilation scare.

Next week is a 9 mile 2,000 feet fell race. Mmm... not sure?

Orienteering - Wildmoor, Plush Hill and Gogbatch

Last minute decision saw me off to an orienteering event this morning. 79 minutes for 6.3k and 190m climb. Not a bad time for me. A little cold but I enjoyed it all the same.

Feel like my fitness is good but I am dithering with the navigation. People were making much quicker decisions than me and flowing through the controls. I guess you lose the skill the more years you spend away from the sport.

Nothing to report

Nothing exciting to report. Just spend my time working or looking for more work.

Managing three or four runs a week. Back to a 2 hour Sunday run and increasing. Heel feels great now I am not training 7 to 10 times a week. Funny that.

Still half a stone heavier at 14st 10lbs.

Stephen Costello has gone off the radar. Keep forgetting he is a Great Black Bear who needs to hibernate.

Must buy some Xmas and Birthday pressies soon. Off to Carol's at Xmas, very exciting.

Ah well, off to listen to some ACDC.

I think all leaders should watch this video

Leadership Crunch: The Forgotten $500 Billion Financial Crisis

This is one of the most thought provoking short videos on leadership you will ever see.  Click here to see the video (the actual URL link is at the bottom of this note).  You can also see the video on YouTube by searching on "Leadership Crunch".

Leadership Crunch: The Forgotten $500 Billion Financial Crisis
**************************************************************************************
Britain's £400 billion and America's $700 billion rescue packages aren't just rescuing the credit crunch, they're also rescuing the leadership crunch.  The 2008 credit crunch happened despite an estimated $500 billion global spend on leadership development in the last five years.  Yet, there's no public outcry about this wasted $500 billion - the forgotten financial crisis  - even though the leadership crunch has resulted in the chronic lack of leadership.
  • Do you want to know how to increase people's confidence in leadership?
  • Do you want to know how you can get a better return on your training budget?
  • Do you want to know how you can prevent the leadership crunch from crunching your organisation?
  • Do you want to know why $500 billion of leadership training has not worked?
  • Do you want to stop contributing to another $500 billion from being wasted?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to take a look at this thought-provoking video from Wilson Given http://www.wilsongiven.com/Default.aspx?tabid=504
