Seen a canoe and now I am sulking

Went in to Decathlon today for a look around.

My eye was caught by a canoe very similar to this.

Fantastic I thought, must give it a try.

Then it dawned on me that I no longer know anyone who would really give it a go just for the fun of it.

I am having a sulk!

Echo Cardiogram

Been over to the hospital this morning. Trees and I were treated to a real time scan of my heart in action. You could see the heart values fluttering and the heart pumping in and out.

You could also see the blood flow in and out.

The outcome is I have a perfectly healthy heart. My reboot a week last wednesday has done the trick.

Now for my twelve month training plan!

Great day at Lake Yyrnwy today. First small exercise since to the adventure to the hopital over a week ago. No problems. Beautiful day. Great to see the birds, great outdoors and some fresh autumn air.

Atrial Fibrillation

What a day I had Wednesday.

Woke up with heart flutters. Went straight to hospital. Had loads of tests, they could not find anything wrong.

Turns out I had Attrial Fibrillation. My heart rythmn had gone out of sync. They tried to correct it with a drug but it did not work so they popped me up to an operating theatre and gave me an electric shock. Paddles.. clear.. and all that. Corrected it immediately.

Sent me home that evening after monitoring me for 2 hours.

Apparantly it can happen to very healthy peope for no reason at all. No guarantee it will not happen again but it is not life threatening. What an adventure. Feeling a little tired but under the circumstances very well.

All I have to show for it is two light electricity burns and a shaved chest. That will afford me 2 seconds per kilometre of my swim speed.

Daniel Lee has gone home

Dan has left this country for the last time.

He is on his way to Adeleide to be with his family. I am so pleased for him and especially his girls who now have a loving and supportive family around them.

Their adventure continues.

Trees and I have just about stopped crying. It was a very emotional farewell for all three of us. I am going to miss him in so many different ways.

We have shared many an adventure; whether in the mountains, in business or just those challenges life brings along.

I know we can keep in touch. I know I know. But there is something magical about being high in the mountains, hanging to a rock alongside someone I would happily call my brother.

Best my best wishes are with him and his family. The pleasure will always be all mine.
