In the Highlands

Been off line for a few days as we decided late Friday to head up to the Scottish Highlands. The Cairngorns to be precise.

Had a lovely time based out of Aviemore. Will update the weblog when I get a little more time.

Not got MSN, Web access and the like at work yet so cramming evryhting in to late nights at the mo.

Managed a swim Friday, a long run Saturday and a swim this afternoon.

Got to dash!

The weigh in - weeks 5 and 6

An my weight this morning was....

208 lbs

1 pound up on two weeks ago but I have taken an active step to eat much, much more. Was feeling too tired and burnt out. Feel much better for it. So after all the cakes, fried breakfasts and the like I am quite happy with 1 lb increase over 2 weeks. Going to settle the etaing down a little more this week. See if I can find a middle ground to lose small amounts gradually.

Sooooo...

This is the end of week 6 of training.

Start weight 216 pounds, Current weight 208 pounds, Lost 8

Completed 175 minutes of training in week 5 and 175 in week 6.

To date that is 1,234 minutes of 10,000 planned over 10 months.

or 123 miles of 1,000 miles.

I have brand new Joe Friel training plan in production courtesy of a Daniel Lee trip to North America.

Run 40 minutes - Bollin Valley

Got myself out of bed at 5 am as I could not sleep.

Decided a run down the Bollin Valley would fill the time.

Was showered and in work by 8am.

Sorted.

Lunch time swim

Daniel dragged me over to the pool for a lumch time swim.

Taken to heart that every session is a technique session, the fitness will come with the training.

Not sure I am focusing on the right techniques though.

Morning run 50 mins

Dragged my body out of bed at 05:00 this morning to head over to work and an early morning run along the river Bollin with Daniel.

Getting quite used to this early morning exercise lark. Could be something I do more of as the nights get darker and the clocks go back to reveal lighter mornings.

Running with a partner stops you focusing on the pain and discomfort. You are busily chatting away. It also stops you from over doing the effort as you cannot talk and run hard at the same time. So at this stage of the season it ensures you are doing your aerobic exercise.

The cycle training is just not happening. Might put that right saturday morning with a 2 hour cycle with dan before anyone is out of bed.

Injury update:

Trees has a very sore shoulder so has stopped training for a week. Daniel has a very sore arm so has stopped swimming for a week and I have a slightly tight heel. Kind of questions the sense in it all?

Princess Lauren is back

Her ladyship arrived last night.

Had spent the day working from home and getting my hair cut then popped over to meet Lauren at the usual half way mark.

The three of us had a catch up on some TV fav's last night then popped over to Wrexham this morning. Needed some new clothes for school (Lauren not me) and a few mens outfits (me not Lauren).

Lauren also had a new super dooper hair cut with Tracey. Looks at least 16 now. Going to be beating the boys off with a big stick.

Helped Karl with some office furniture left over from his works whilst the girls strolled out to the Co-op.

Janmes will be over shortly for a sleep over and tour of Old Trafford tomorrow.
