Canada Day
Michelle, John, Kath and Danielle were over for the weekend. Another fantastic do.
Celebrated Canada Day and Michelle's 21st birthday. Well 21 and a few months.
Looks like you had to stick your tongue out to be cool!

Back running
Hooray, Trees and I are back running.
Who cares that we are both coughing up alien substances whilst we run. We are running hoorah.
Managed two thirty minute runs Monday and tonight. Great feeling.
Not sure I should be running on the road but the feeling is so good.
Trees is single handed organising the BBQ a week Saturday. Hopefully the rain will have finaly finished by then and we can enjoy a good weather. The 70's outfits are looking good.
Night moves
Been ages since I had insomnia.
For the last four nights I have swung between getting to sleep just before it goes light then the following night sleeping right through. Just no middle ground.
Last night I read the last third of my "feet in the clouds" and a whole "running magazine" before I fell asleep just as the morning bird chorus erupted.
Strange how our bodies can surprise us. I suspect it is something to do with the amount of caffiene. I have been working hard which usually requires more coffee.
Got dan coming around tonight. I might be fast asleep on his lap by 9pm. Dan gas been to the USA working so should have a lot to catch up on.
Stephen will be at his dad's funeral today. Our thoughts are with him and his family.
I guess my Canadian family all got back safely. Would have heard something by now I guess if they had not.
Trees is off to see "sing along a sound of music" tonight with Debbie. We have the summer ball tomorrow evening and a bike ride with Dan in the morning.
May all my friends run in sunlit forests.
Bickerton Hill
Having not slept for most of last night I managed to read my "Feet in the Clouds" fell running book. For the third time.
I find it quite motivational. I have competed (no, took part) in a number of the events alluded to in the book. I have experienced many of the trials that the author writes about. I have empthy with his feelings and his views.
The thing that always strikes a chord with me is the view that you should enjoy the pain and discomfort associated with fell and mountain running. More than that, you should yearn for it, want to double it, need it.
In essence, it is only your mind that stops you achieving your physical goals. You can run faster, longer, harder. You have got to have the mindset to do it. It is in you. You know it is going to hurt so when the pain arrives there should be no surprises. Just get on with it.
So, I decided it was time to stop using my cold as an excuse for not doing some serious off road running and set off for the hills.
One hour later I was back in my car after a fantastic run over Bickerton Hill. So, as expected, it hurt, I felt sick, my lungs were bursting, the descents hurt my bones. Everything I expected and looked forward to.
Ok, so when can I do it again? I am ready for more. I need it!
Llandegla mountain biking
Just cannot put in to words how much fun, pain, excitement and adventure I had with Daniel on Saturday. The pictures do not do it justice.
Llandegla has a fantastic mountain bike course. Got to do it again.

Summer Ball
Didn't I have a busy weekend. These are the "before" pictures. The "after" pictures are not printable!
Quad biking, archery, food, dancing, casino and drink, drink, drink, drink!
