Anglesey day

Had a great day on Anglesey island today.

Kicked off the day with a pit stop at Cafe Nero followed by a visit to the RSPB at Conwy. Crossed over the Menai Straights travelling up the east coast up to Lynas Point.

Lynas point is beautiful. Isolated most northerly point in Wales.

Walked out to the ede of the rocks where we spotted a bull seal. Not a great deal of sea birds as it is a little early in the year but spent some time watching Stonechat, Wheatear and Corn Buntings out on the wind blown rough grounds.

Decided we could get in a trip to South Stack on the way home so we full circled the island down the east coast calling at Holly Head for fish and chips on the way.

South Stack was quiet as well but it was good to get the fresh air and see the fantastic views.

Picked Lauren up on the way home ending a great day.

Easter Hooray

4 day break. Fantastic.

Trees has been away for few days down South with Lauren so I have been on my own just working and sleeping. Looking forward to a little pleasure and down time.

Managed a long cycle on Monday for over an hour. Finding I am little wobbly after moving from winter off road bike to my summer road bike.

Paul came over Tuesday for a bit of business.

Lauren managed another visit to a zoo but this time got to feed an elephant and a giraffe. The pictures looked great. Especially the lion.

Lets hope the next 4 days are great ones.

Ynys-hir

Been over to a great bird reserve today on the Welsh west coast.

Long drive but Trees and lauren appeared to think it was worth it. Did not arrive until 14.00, had to drag ourselves away at 20:00 as it was getting cold and the light was fading.

Trees had packed a picnic for the three of us. Lovely sat in the sun overlooking the estuary eating and chilling. Took us hours to walk just small distances as there was always somehting to stop and look at.

Saw a Chiffchaff for the first time. It was also nice to see the Tree Creeper and the Gold Crest.

The reserve was surprisingly quiet for an Easter weekend. Not complaining though.

Would recommend this place to anyone who likes the outdoors and wildlife. Excellent.

Lunch with Allan

Nephew Allan has been over for a few days keeping Mum (Pat) company.

Decided a trip to the pictures to see Norbert and a meal at Frankie and Benny's would be in order.

Suprisingly I really enjoyed the picture and all in all was a good afternoon. Allan was on form as usual. He even tried for the "little blind boy" 10% discount.

Nice to go in to public places and it be non smoking. First week of the new law being in place and everyone appears to be sticking to it. Not sure if all the beer gardens are popular because of the easter sunshine or they are all smokers.

Had to do a little work today but that was ok. Lauren is going home tonight. Boo Hoo. Has it been a week already?

Monday - last day of Easter

My last day of Easter was a different one.

Trees and I found ourselves alone for the first time in a while. So do we snuggle in and take it easy? No!

We decide to go for a 6 hour cycle ride over to Erddig National Park and then on to Wrexham and then on to Pats.

I would like to say we cycled for all those 6 hours but that would just be a lie. There were many stops to watch the local wildlife. Then there was the walk around the Country House. The Angora rabbits were the highlight there. Then there was the soup at Nero's. Then the coffee at Pats and a little wrestle with Allan.

Anyway, great day.

Oh, by the way, I have shaved off my beard. Been many, many years since the world saw my choppers and chin in the bare flesh. James was the most startled.

I ho, back to work

Back to life, back to reality, back to life..... song in there somewhere.

Been a good evening though. Last minute decision for Trees and I to pop over to the gym for stomach and weights. A trip over to Homebase to start off the hanging baskets and the like. Finished off with Manchester United demolishing Roma 7 to1 in the Champions League. In the semi finals now. On for the treble? Bring it on.
