Once a month

Once a month Lauren and my mum drive over from Manchester on a Wednesday for the evening. This Wednesday we met with Trees at Cheshire oaks.

The three of us arrived a little earlier than Trees so popped in to Borders / Starbucks for a drink. Lauren has found a new writer she likes so it was a good opportunity to get a couple of her books.

As soon as Trees arrived we went to Frankie and Benny's for a meal followed by "Hot Fuzz" over at Vue Cinema. Lovely evening all round. Hope the traffic was not too bad for them going home.

Mum tells me that Michelle and her mum are coming over for Lynn's wedding along with Tracey. Going to be great to see them all. Hope I get some time with them.

Trees starting to be her old self

Looks like Trees is getting is finally getting over the tooth infection she has had since Christmas. We managed a swim at the gym last night. Although Trees is still suffering from her self inflicted ankle problem she still managed ten lengths of the training pool.

I have not swam for ages so 20 lengths of the big boys pool was hard going. Can feel it in the old bones this morning.

Feels like I have a sniffle this morning. Hope I have not caught the mange from the pool!

23

Went to see the film "23" at Wrexham Odeon last night. First film in ages where I found myself bored loooking around the audience for something interesting to watch. Trees was the same. I like Jim Carrey and in theory the subject was interesting but it just did not float my boat.

Not what we planned

Trees and I planned a cycle today. Instead we ended up being lazy and driving over to the Flash for a bit of birding followed by a meal at the Pant yr ochrain.

Watched Man U put a last minute winner past Liverpool this afternoon.

Not a bad day!

Umbra and Penumbra

Trees and I took the time to watch the lunar eclipse last night. Apparently this is the time that the Earth is directly between the Sun and our Moon.

The Moon goes a strange Orange Red colour as the sun's light travels through the Earths atmosphere. A little like the pictures of Mars. The new scope came in handy. The moon was very, very bright before the eclipse. You could see much of the detail on it's surface.

Run around the farms

Managed to drag myself out of bed at 0900 for a 40 minute run around the local farm fields. Very, very muddy finished off with a downpour of ran. Just how I like it. Feels good to be starting training again. Hope it continues.

A quiet Sunday

Had a very pleasant and quite Sunday. Cannot remember the last time we had so much time on our hands.

We were planning to see Michael but the heavy rain postponed that. Trees decided that the kitchen needed finishing off so it has been a DIY day. Trees has done most of the work so I did my goal hanger and finished off the new lights, shelves and blind.

Trees next plan is to rip down the Ikea units in the kitchen and replace them with units the same style as the rest of the kitchen. Fortunately they are on 9 weeks delivery time so I can put my tools away for the moment.
