No blogging but lots of snow
How can it be so long since I blogged. Just so busy.
The snow has been falling all day so I have come home early to ensure I can.
So what have I been up to. Mostly working too hard and long hours, a weekend with Lauren, a weekend with Carol and the family and a traditional Sunday lunch with Kwai, Alison and the two treasures.
Not heard from mum in weeks.. and vica versa! I have lots of personal and business stuff not done.
Trees has still got an infection in her teeth and jaw. This is since before Christmas. What a nightmare for her. Had to give up work it has been so long.
I am not doing nearly enough exercise due to work pressures. I have caught a cold from Stephen so I cannot go out in the snow for a run and cycle. Bless him for that.
Tracey and a few others are coming over from Canada in late May for Lyn's wedding. That is going to be soooooo fantaaaaaastic. Cannot wait. Not sure I have mentioned to Trees that we will have lodgers. Ah well. Not sure I have an invite to the wedding come to think of it. Mum might of mentioned it. Must listen more.
Trees birthday in a week or so. Will need to get the snow plough out to get some secret shopping done.
Lauren is with us this weekend. Get the sledges out!
Lauren over for the week
My Princess has been with me for most of last week. Great feeling to have her around me. Managed to pop over to Conwy for an afternoon. I think Lauren enjoyed the chips more than the fresh air.
I always end up eating too much of the delicious cakes and scones that Lauren makes. Last week was no different.
Trees has turned the corner with her teeth and jaw infection. Still there but not quite banging her head against the wall in pain. The antibiotics are starting to help with the infection and her jaw bone is starting to set firmly around the remaining teeth. Not out of the woods but looking much better.
Both Lauren and myself had a cold for most of the week. Lovely for Trees as we both rattled our catarrh!
Sorry to see Lauren go back home Friday but it was lovely pleasant unplanned surprise.
Trees Birthday
This has been Trees birthday weekend.
Decided we needed a birding theme this year so some top notch kit was bought and a clock that chimes bird song on the hour. Fred the cat particularly likes it.
Stayed with Michael and Nats Friday night after we dropped Lauren off. Always great to see the two of them. Trees always appears to be most at ease when Nat's is around. I guess we all need close friends to be there for us.
We all went our own way during Saturday. Trees and Nats went out with Helen for Wedding shopping. Michael went out on a job. I went shopping in PC World and had an enjoyable few hours with Daniel in Wilmslow planning how to become millionaires fuelled by Cafe Nero caffeine.
Saturday night was dedicated to Trees birthday. A top class meal at a very strange restaurant in Manchester. Felt like I was eating in my mum's front room back in Gorton.
This was followed up by a visit to the Frog and Bucket comedy club. Great night but Trees managed to fall off her (no Nats) high heels and sprained her ankle good time. The bruising and swelling is world class. Poor Trees has been ill in some manner continually since December. My heart goes out to her.
Sunday saw us feet up recovering!
The working week
All this work and no play is not very interesting to read and not very interesting to experience. Cold is under control so looks like I am going to be able to do a light run with Stephen from Beeston Castle.
Lauren and Sophie are with us this weekend so getting on the computer whilst I can.
Trees is starting to recover from her teeth nightmare and is down to just a limp after falling off her high heels last weekend. Has not stopped her from redecorating the whole kitchen this week.
No activity since December means I now have a small podge. Got to get back in to fitness again.
Trees is out with Nats in Chester tonight. Think we will have a few drunken lodgers later on. I have spoted some "Resolve" and "Lucozade" in the bathroom so it looks like a heavy session for them.
Last few days
So the radiant Lauren and Sophie made it across at the weekend. Great to have them both around. Add to the adopted family Carole and Nat's and we had a memorable if not crowded weekend. The three bathrooms were put to good use.
Nat's had a tummy bug on Friday night and Saturday. Hope she feels much better now. Nat's recovered enough to cycle over to the farm shop with us on Sunday.
Carole did a quick assessment of my strange feet movements before leaving us on Saturday afternoon to get back to her man.
Lauren and Sophie managed to out party us all by staying awake until the early hours. This included much exercise with the PS2 eye toy thingymajig
I sneaked out Saturday morning for an early morning 5k run with Stephen. Spent more time gabbing than running.
The wireless network went live in our home. After much gnashing of teeth we were rescued by Roger. He only has to threaten to come across and the technology jumps to attention. All present and correct.
I managed to get a hair cut on Saturday amid all the chaos and popped over to Wrexham to try and find a phone for Lauren. No luck but Lauren decided that her current phone is suitable after we discovered we can down load music to it.
Hope Sophie enjoyed her weekend with us. It would be great to see her again.
Spent the last 2 days working too hard. What's new at the moment.
Looks like the boys are going up Ben Nevis in May. Biggest mountain in Great Britain. I will drag my podgy body up and down come what may.
We have the first lambs in the field. I am sure we had snow, ice and mid winter only 2 weeks ago. Now we have lambs and spring flowers popping up. Not be long before we can get out and about in the evenings. Fantastic.
