Who cares? George Carlin

A wonderful Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings >but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.

We've added years to life not life to years.

We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.

We conquered outer space but not inner space.

We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.

We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less.

We plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.

These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.

A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete…

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it.

A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak!

And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people...Who cares? > > George Carlin

Sunday

Mum, Aimee and Mel came over to see us Sunday.

I managed a quick spot of painting the outside of the house before they arrived.

Trees was helping Nats and Michael over at her mums so we went over to the Ice Cream Farm. Always goes down well.

The girls entertained themesleves on MSN in the afteroon whilst we watched Christmas movie! Christams starts on 1st October nowadays.

Monday

Trees was not too good this morning so was in bed all day. Looks like a dodgy stomach.

I took another day off from training to be with her tonight. Going to get back on track tomorrow. Heel feels fine.

Got some bad news. Michael has been taken to hospital from work with a suspected blood clot. Fingers crossed all is well.

Run at work

Managed to get a run in this evening straight after work. Only 3.5 miles but a good test for my heel niggle.

All appears well. See how we go tomorrow. Got hard event Saturday.

AnnMarie and Victoria are doing greta after just 2 weeks. Longest continual run I have seen them do. AnnMarie has a 10k this weekend in Sefton, Liverpool.

Trees and Michael getting better

Turns out Michael has strained his ribs after a brawl earlier this year. False alarm, it is not a blood clot. Phew...

Trees is still suffering with an upset stomach but managed a full day in work. A few people appear to have caught it with her.

Neil and Liz

Popped over to see Neil and Liz tonight after picking Lauren up.

Charleigh has moved schools. It gets her away from some people that were not so nice to her and in a schools that is closer to her more artistic needs.

Nice to see everyone. The atmosphere was great.

My girl

Most Wednesdays I try to spend time with Lauren (princess daughter).

It does not always happen. Sometimes Lauren has things to do with close friends or I get dragged away to do something unforeseen. But generally we manage to get together.

I like my time with Lauren. As she gets older and I get more comfortable being a dad; I find that I am more and more seeing the natural or real Lauren.

I like to think that people who see us together see a dad and daughter who are pleased to be together, hopefully seeing two people who like and love each other.

Although we did not spend quality one on one time tonight, I still feel that we clicked tonight. There were so many things that were right. It feels so good.

I am hoping that each week, month and year we will become closer. I hope I will always be there for her in a way that she needs.

I could just squeeze her!
