Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone.
Bit quiet in our house this morning. The effects of alcohol and a very late night have made it strangely quiet this morning.
Love and kisses to the world from Trees, Lauren and Tony.

Happy New Year Everyone...
A new year
Not kept up with the blogging in the way that I intended over the last week or so. Lauren (top daughter) has been with us for a week or so. Lauren has discovered the internet big style. This includes her own website that has had over 2,000 hits and a new web cam and microphone that has allowed her to see and talk to her friend Sophie. Just cannot get on the PC. So, I am back in work this morning. Started the new year well by forgetting my swimming gear this morning. Not a good start. Went to see "Just Like Heaven" at Cheshire Oaks Cinema on Sunday. I thought it was OK but Trees and Lauren thought it was fantastic. I thought The Family Stone was better. Yesterday we had an early Birthday for me as it is officially today and I am in work. Popped over to Gigrin Farm
Took down all Xmas decorations last night. Very sad. It is all over so quickly.
Ah well, a new year. Here we go again!
Training update
After 5 weeks of rest and relaxation I commenced a very easy start to the training again over the Xmas period.
I have done about a week of stretching to help the ankle recover and to improve my flexibility. I have also done a week of upper body strengthening with 3kg weights.
I also had my first light run off road last week with Stephen, Daniel and Danny. This was only 1.7 miles but it is amazing how out of breath I got. Training wears off so quickly. The good news is the ankle has been great during and since. Fantastic news. I would cartwheel if I was not being so cautious.
This was Danny's first run with us. Looks like he enjoyed it. I must organise a park run this Thursday evening. Will need torches. Stephen ran with a rucksack. His Mountain marathon training is months ahead of mine now. Just gives me more incentive to catch up.
Weight has gone up from 14st 10 to 15 stone 4. Could have been worse over Xmas and New Year.
I have decided that Strength, Flexibility and Stamina need equal focus.
Stephen has suggested a 15k Windermere Lake District trail race in April. This will be a great stepping stone to a July Mountain Marathon. http://www.trailrunning.co.uk/
"Feet in the Clouds" is inspirational. Let me at those hills! http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1845130820/qid=1136317471/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_3_1/026-9727449-1856467
Two days of work!
Survived my second day of work in the New Year. Been very busy today. On top of the 5am rise and shine and 20 lengths before 07.00 I am now on my way to Manchester to drop Lauren off with her mum. All this on a diet of roughage, fruit, veg and coffee.
I have decided this no time to give up caffeine.
Going to miss Lauren sooooooo muuuuuuuchhhhhhhhh! The last 7 days have been heaven. Tons of hugs and kisses. What more can a dad ask for apart from getting his computer back!
Lauren says Hi everyone!
Only just in to the New Year and a major blog entry is called for
Julie (my ex and Lauren's mum) and Steve are separating. Julie was given very short notice to get out by Steve last week and is now in a new house in Hyde close to Lauren's friends and school. Did anyone blink and miss it? Events can turn very quickly in life can't they.
Their separation is not particularly a surprise. Their relationship had been rocky from the start. I had hoped it would last until Lauren was older and had established her own life a little more.
Trees is being wonderful. Offered to have Julie here a night, store her things and ferry Lauren to and from school (3 hour journey every day!). I love Trees so, so much. Times like this emphasise and remind me lucky I am to be in her life.
So, Lauren has a new home, new bedroom and Steve out of her life. Life is such a whirlwind for her. As a dad I never imagined that this was the life that would be ahead of her. Having been from a split home myself I never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever wanted this to happen. But it has and I have to support her all I can.
Well at least I am now allowed in to the home that Lauren lives in. A strange feeling but a welcome one. Also met Janet and Dave the old in laws which was nice.
Another twist. Another turn. Another up and another down. The roller coaster is still trundling along. Where did I put my travel sickness pills.
Awake at 4 am and out of bed 5 am
Why can I not sleep? I am getting 3 or 4 hours a night since Sunday evening.
Managed a 100 length swim at 6.30 this morning before going in to work.
Off to the Physio this evening followed by a run with Danny.
I have eaten rabbit food all day.
If I do not sleep tonight I never will.
