Nothing to report
Nothing exciting to report. Just spend my time working or looking for more work.
Managing three or four runs a week. Back to a 2 hour Sunday run and increasing. Heel feels great now I am not training 7 to 10 times a week. Funny that.
Still half a stone heavier at 14st 10lbs.
Stephen Costello has gone off the radar. Keep forgetting he is a Great Black Bear who needs to hibernate.
Must buy some Xmas and Birthday pressies soon. Off to Carol's at Xmas, very exciting.
Ah well, off to listen to some ACDC.
I think all leaders should watch this video
Leadership Crunch: The Forgotten $500 Billion Financial Crisis
This is one of the most thought provoking short videos on leadership you will ever see. Click here to see the video (the actual URL link is at the bottom of this note). You can also see the video on YouTube by searching on "Leadership Crunch".

Leadership Crunch: The Forgotten $500 Billion Financial Crisis
**************************************************************************************
Britain's £400 billion and America's $700 billion rescue packages aren't just rescuing the credit crunch, they're also rescuing the leadership crunch. The 2008 credit crunch happened despite an estimated $500 billion global spend on leadership development in the last five years. Yet, there's no public outcry about this wasted $500 billion - the forgotten financial crisis - even though the leadership crunch has resulted in the chronic lack of leadership.
- Do you want to know how to increase people's confidence in leadership?
- Do you want to know how you can get a better return on your training budget?
- Do you want to know how you can prevent the leadership crunch from crunching your organisation?
- Do you want to know why $500 billion of leadership training has not worked?
- Do you want to stop contributing to another $500 billion from being wasted?

Fred's back!
Fred is back. Hoorah.
They found a 10 cm piece of grass in her throat. Picture below. The card is to give you scale.
Bless her...

The wind has changed direction
The winds of change are blowing my way

- Fred the cat is in the vet tonight for the second time in a month
- Both cars broke down yesterday
- Mum has been unwell
Pah! Bring it on!
Seen a canoe and now I am sulking
Went in to Decathlon today for a look around.
My eye was caught by a canoe very similar to this.

Fantastic I thought, must give it a try.
Then it dawned on me that I no longer know anyone who would really give it a go just for the fun of it.
I am having a sulk!
Training - the season ahead - Target Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon
OK, I am now in to training for the LAMM next June.
Might seam like a long way off but for me there is never enough time to train for an event of this magnitude. 16 hours running over the wild Scottish terrain.
Missed all of my training goals last year other than hitting my target weight for a short while.
So, this year my targets are:
· Complete the LAMM with Stephen Costello
· Go under 14st one week before the LAMM
· A 10km under 50 minutes
And how am I going to achieve this:
- Run three times a week including a long Sunday run
- Peak at a 7 hour training run with back pack
- 3 stretching and weights sessions a week
- Cross training including swimming and cycling
- Compete in B and C type events such as Fell Races, Orienteering, Triathlon, Trail Races, Long O and the like
Going to have to ease myself back in to this routine. Done 3 runs this week including 1 hour today on the Sandstone trail.
I am sooooooooo excited.
Echo Cardiogram
Been over to the hospital this morning. Trees and I were treated to a real time scan of my heart in action. You could see the heart values fluttering and the heart pumping in and out.
You could also see the blood flow in and out.
The outcome is I have a perfectly healthy heart. My reboot a week last wednesday has done the trick.
Now for my twelve month training plan!
